Prohibited Products: What You Can’t Sell
Hello, this is Oklahoma Cannabis Business Attorney Jesse Kovacs with the OK Cannabis Law Office. Today we’re going to ask what sort of products am I prohibited from creating, processing, or trying to sell with my medical marijuana business? And here the rules are pretty simple.
So you cannot sell for retail mature plants or marijuana seedlings unless you’re a licensed dispensary. Retail sales of seedlings and mature plants only licensed dispensaries. So if you’re a grower processor trying to move those things around, stop. You cannot do that.
Now the other big catch-all is any product that is intended to be purchased or consumed by children, so people under the age of 18, that is prohibited. So you might think of some sort of product that has a cartoon character that kids like on it. This kind of falls in with the advertising restrictions. You can’t use that kind of stuff in advertising and you cannot make products that have that same intent to reach those consumers that are under the age of 18. So keep that in mind when you’re coming up with the kind of products you want to make and marketing schemes that you come up with.
