Product Embargo Response: Key Actions for Cannabis Industry Compliance
Hello, this is Oklahoma Cannabis Business Attorney Jesse Kovach with the OK Cannabis Law Office. Today, we’re asking, what do I do if I have a product embargoed, if I get a recall notice or an embargo notice on a product that I have on my shelves and that I have sold? Well, the most important thing is that you stop selling it immediately.
Make sure you do not do any more transfers of any embargo products. You want to make sure that you have all of your documentation and inventory reporting ready to go for those products. And if you’ve already sold some, you want to collect all of those transaction documents so that you can submit that stuff to OMMA so that they can, you know, if they need to proceed with a recall notice or alert patients of these embargo products, they can do so.
Submit Documentation Promptly
So that’s the most important thing is to make sure that those things come off your shelf as soon as that embargo notice comes out and make sure that you have all of the documentation related to any transactions and any inventory that you have of that embargo product ready to go and ready to submit to OMMA.
