Moratorium Doesn’t Affect Already Issued Licenses
Video Transcribed: Oklahoma medical marijuana moratorium: What is it, and why is it in effect? I am Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Attorney Ope Adegbuyi. And so the medical marijuana moratorium is going into effect on August 26th, 2022, and will last for two years.
That means August 1st, 2024. However, the executive director of the OMMA has the discretion to cut it shorter. This moratorium went into effect because of the backlog of work on the OMMA and compliance issues until they made this moratorium on catching up on the backlog and trying to get every business in compliance.
So what does this mean? No business, medical marijuana business, grower, dispensary, or processor can get a new license. However, it doesn’t affect licenses that have already been issued. For more information, contact me, the Tulsa Business Cannabis Attorney at OklahomaMedicalMarijuana.Attorney.
