Licensees Will Be Required to Register with The ODAFF
Video Transcribed: So we are continuing the question of how the legislative updates affect you as an outdoor grower. I am Ope Adegbuyi, a Tulsa marijuana attorney.
The newly passed House Bill 1737 states that beginning November 1, 2022, all medical marijuana commercial grower licensees who operate an outdoor medical marijuana production facility shall be required to register with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry as an environmentally sensitive crop owner.
The registration shall provide notice to commercial and private pesticide applicators of the location of marijuana crops, and help minimize the potential for damaging pesticide drift. Medical marijuana commercial grower licensees shall provide their business name, address, and GPS coordinates for all outdoor medical marijuana production facilities, and any other information required by the department when registering with the environmentally sensitive area registry. So basically now, if you operate an outdoor grow from November 1st, you are required to get a license from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture.
This would be the license for an environmentally sensitive area. So in my next video, we’ll be talking about what happens if you operate both an indoor and an outdoor grow.
