Green light for Oklahoma?
Video Transcribed: What is Oklahoma State Question 820? I am Tulsa medical marijuana business lawyer, Ope Adegbuyi.
State Question 820 would legalize adult use and recreational marijuana in Oklahoma. Adults 21 and over would be able to purchase marijuana products for recreational use from licensed businesses, so dispensaries. State Question 820 would allow individuals to possess up to one ounce of marijuana, six mature marijuana plants, and six seedlings.
The State Question also creates a licensing process for recreational marijuana dispensaries, recreational marijuana growers, recreational marijuana processors, and recreational marijuana transporters, and it directs the state to create rules for those businesses for the preparation and lead billing of marijuana products within 90 days after the law has passed, that’s after the vote on March 7th.
The state would impose a 15% excise tax on each sale, with surplus revenue going to student services, drug addiction treatment programs, courts, local governments, and the State General Revenue Fund.
