Medical Marijuana Businesses Can Apply for Recreational Licenses
Video Transcribed: What does Oklahoma State Question 820 mean for your medical marijuana business? I am Oklahoma medical marijuana business attorney Ope Adegbuyi.
If State Question 820 is approved, it does not affect your medical marijuana business presently. However, businesses that have been around for up to at least one year from the effective date of 820 will be able to apply for an adult-use license, either an adult-use grow license, adult-use dispensary license, adult-use processing license, or adult-use transportation license.
Right now we don’t know what the licensing requirements are. However, State Question 820 does say that the OMMA should keep the regulations similar to the medical marijuana business regulations. So what we know right now though is, medical marijuana businesses and adult-use businesses or recreational businesses are two separate entities and things, so they don’t affect each other.
