Fees Depend on Your Canopy Size
Video Transcribed: How do legislative updates affect you as an indoor grower? I am Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Business Attorney Ope Adegbuyi.
In my last video, we talked about how the legislation affects you as a grower in general. However, the new legislation is broken up into indoor growers and outdoor growers. So in this video, we’ll be talking about indoor growers. The newly passed House Bill 2179, which will be effective November 1st, 2022, states that an indoor greenhouse or light-deprivation medical marijuana growth facility will be divided into tiers, and the tiers are as follows. For tier one, up to 10,000 square feet of canopy, the fee shall be $2,500. Tier two, from 10,001 square feet of the canopy to 20,000 square feet of the canopy, the fee shall be $5,000. 20,001 square feet of the canopy to 40,000 square feet of the canopy, the fee shall be $10,000.
Tier four, 40,001 square feet of the canopy to 60,000 square feet of canopy, the fee shall be $20,000. And tier five, 60,001 square feet of the canopy to 80,000 square feet of canopy, the fee shall be $30,000. And then tier six, 80,001 square feet of the canopy to 90,999 square feet of canopy, the fee shall be $40,000. And tier seven is 100,000 square feet of canopy and beyond, the fee shall be 50,000 plus an additional 25 cents per square foot of canopy over 100,000 square feet. So basically, your fees are divided into tiers and the tiers are divided into how many square feet you own.
In my next video, we’ll be talking about the requirements for outdoor growers. For more information from a marijuana grower license lawyer in Tulsa, you can contact me at oklahomamedicalmarijuana.attorney.
