OMMA Can Issue Licenses to Multiple Types of Marijuana Businesses
Video Transcribed: We are continuing with the question of what Oklahoma State Question 820 says. I am Tulsa medical marijuana business attorney, Ope Adegbuyi.
In this section, State Question 820 talks about basically the specifics of the licenses and what would happen with the license. However, it doesn’t go into too much detail because it’s leaving the detail part to the OMMA or the authority that would be governing the recreational use that will be determined by the OMMA.
OK State Question 820 says that the OMMA shall accept and issue adult-use marijuana business licenses including but not limited to adult-use marijuana commercial growers, adult-use marijuana processors, adult-use marijuana dispensaries, adult-use marijuana transporter, and adult-use marijuana testing laboratories.
Additionally, a medical marijuana business license and an adult-use license of the same type can operate at the same business location consistent with the OMMA rules and the act or proposed act that question 820 will become.
So for example, if someone has a medical marijuana grow license and they have an adult-use commercial grower license, they can have those two licenses for one location and serve each license’s consumer. So, if it’s a dispensary and they have a medical marijuana business dispensary license and they have an adult-use dispensary license, then the medical marijuana dispensary license can be served or can serve medical marijuana patients, and then the adult-use can serve adult-use patients.
